One the best kept soccer secrets in Corvallis is the soccer field at Hewlett Packard. Next to the OSU soccer field, HPs field is the best in town and any collegiate program would be proud to play on that field. It is full sized, drains wonderfully, sanded and groomed like a golf fairway. Because of this a few die-hards from HP actually play year round.

But from Spring to Fall when the sun is out is when this game really takes off. It starts a few minutes past noon since many of the players have to jog from their offices to the field. Those of us visiting from outside HP can enter the Northwestern entrance nearest K-mart and park next to the field.



Players of all ages and abilities are recieved in this game. Like the OSU lunch-time game there are many players in thier forties or more. It is also typical to see a couple of women and younger teens playing also. Bring your outdoor shoes or turf shoes as well as a white and a dark shirt.

The HP game tends to a bit more "lively" than the OSU game. Its just as friendly if not more so however. It may be because the HP guys are stuck in meetings or sitting at thier desks all day. In any case some of these guys definately like to run. Numbers in the summer range from 6-a-side to full field games with goal keepers.

Between the OSU and Hewlett Packard game you can get your soccer on 5 days a week. Now that you know where the good pick-up games are get out there and play!
