Big applause to our local newspaper the Corvallis Gazette Times for their great coverage of community soccer in the last month. GT reporters Raju Woodward, Brooks Hatch and Nancy Raskauskas all deserve credit for sharing interesting stories about Corvallis' most popular pastime.

I have teased Brooks Hatch about his sparse attention to soccer in the past. But he deserves credit for consistently mentioning some soccer related tidbit in his sports blog for the GT. Nancy Raskauskas has even told me that she would like to cover more local sports outside of the traditional Beavers football and Richie's Market baseball stories. Just when I thought Raju Woodward would have nothing to write about after the city league softball season wrapped up he seems to have discovered an interest in high school soccer. Great work to all of you and keep it up!

Here is a list of links to soccer stories published by the Corvallis Gazette Times in just the last month.

All this attention is just great for soccer in Corvallis and I couldn't be happier but these guys are making me look bad with all these articles. I'll try to save some face for myself by sharing something that GT may not not have known about. After CHS and Jesuit played to the 1-1 draw it was discovered that CHS has unknowingly used an ineligible player due to slight reading error. The result is that CHS will officially forfeit that match. Oops. Remember to read the fine print!

Here are the game schedules for both schools:
CHS boys schedule
CHS girls schedule
CV boys schedule
CV girls schedule

Have you been noticing all of the local soccer coverage? What do you think of the GT's soccer articles?
